Operating elements / control devices (such as door handles, elevator buttons, light switches, power points, emergency buttons) are of contrasting colour/material and can be recognized by touch.

 

 

The entrance door and all doors leading to the rooms and in the rooms are 80 cm wide.

Corridors leading to elevators, rooms and other facilities are 120 cm wide.

An elevator can be reached without steps.

The entrance door to the elevator is 90 cm wide.

The cabin depth of the elevator is 140 cm, cabin width 110 cm.

The operating elements of the elevator are arranged horizontally at 85 cm height from the floor or vertically at 85 cm to 140 cm height.

Free space for movement in front of the elevator is 120 x 120 cm.

 

If there is no elevator or if the elevator does not meet the above criteria, stairs leading to the rooms and other areas are fitted with through handrails – at least on one side. Beginning and end of the handrail(s) extend for at least 30 cm beyond the first / last step.
